Health goes first — care as the city’s first anchor, not a later amenity.
Why it exists
The anchor of the whole city, proposed to be led by Dr. Michele Y. Griffith, IHA's Founding Chief Medical Officer. We organize the entire city around closing the screen-to-treatment gap — the most stubborn failure in global health. Wellness is built in tiers, each one funding the one beneath it.
What becomes real
Tier 1 — Community health & prevention: trusted, navigable care for residents and the region, with the follow-through that closes the gap.
Tier 2 — Advanced clinical care: specialty surgery and high-acuity medicine that keeps complex care on the continent and serves medical tourism.
Tier 3 — Integrative & experimental wellness: a high-end longevity & recovery destination. HNW visitors come, stay, and pay — the engine, not the mission.
Tier 4 — Clinical research & trials hub: pharma, biotech, and universities run trials in a well-governed environment.
How value circulates
Tiers 3 & 4 (wellness tourism + trials) generate the surplus that underwrites Tiers 1 & 2 (community care). The few who can pay the most fund the many who need it most.
